RONNIE JAMES DIO  (1942 ~ 2010) a doom is deeply saddened at the passing of the great Metal Master : Mr. RONNIE JAMES DIO .... Words cannot even start to describe his status and influence to the METAL world.... From his Hard Rock days of ELF, RAINBOW, and to the Metal sledgehammer marks of BLACK SABBATH and DIO.... Let us not forget his warm side , putting together HEAR N' AID for the charity anthem "Stars" back in the 80's with all the Stars of Metal.... The following is from Pain : "When I was (still) a pure little kiddie,  there were many chapters of myself being exposed to music. And when I started to buy the vinyl LPs, I remember the innocent little kid running to the record store with his birthday gift money. After going through the tall shelves, I ended up with 4 LPs that day. Korean license LPs were about only 2~3 $ then. And among them was the 1 album that changed the little kid forever: "Heaven and Hell" by BLACK SABBATH.... Although I had heard the earlier albums by SABBATH through a friend, this record was the first I actually owned. So DIO's voice was the first real carving chisle to my inside..... And then my era of DARKNESS grew inside me. Feeding off the DARK mid-EVIL sounds and the Gothic moods that auras around the album. It is just a pure "Classic" in every sense of the word for me.... I still have that very record. And now it's priceless because I have Meister TONY IOMMI's autograph on it. It's just a shame that I never got the chance to see RONNIE JAMES DIO sing live. There was a rumour that DIO was going to play a festival in Korea some years ago, but the festival never happened. What a shame. His majestic powerful vocals and his charismatic stage presence would've been truly an atomic experience to me if I had that chance.... I always placed "On stage" (RAINBOW) and "Live Evil" (BLACK SABBATH) as the few of the greatest live albums of all time. If you are into Hard Rock or Heavy Metal, they are the guide for your Metal master's degree.... My BLACK heart goes out to the DIO family,   HEAVEN AND HELL members (IOMMI, BUTLER, APPICE), and to the millions of DIO's fans and fellow disciples of DARKNESS all over the world.... Anybody who knows me will know that the first and the last thing I do when I meet someone is throw the METAL sign. He has been with me in my everyday life. And from now, with a whole new meaning. I'm sure he is in everyone who also throws the Metal sign.... Master DIO, You will be respected forever, Your legacy will live on in your Music and in every Metal sign we throw out...." PETER STEELE ( 1962 ~ 2010 ) a doom is deeply saddened at the news of the passing of TYPE O NEGATIVE 's Frontman : PETER STEELE .... TYPE O NEGATIVE was - still is and always will be - one of the main influences, the key elements, and the DARK guideline  for a doom. Its Heaviness, its dampness, and most of all,  its DARKNESS : has sparked the music of  a doom.... a doom will have the following 6 days of mourning for PETER STEELE on the band's Myspace page with the Tribute logo, viewable at the bottom.... Also, a video of a doom playing a cover of TYPE O NEGATIVE's "My Girlfriend's Girlfriend" is uploaded as a Tribute  >HERE < The following remarks are from  a doom's lead singer Pain : "PETER STEELE's vocal style and stage presence was such a huge shock to me when I first saw their video for "Black No. 1" and "Christian Woman" back in the '90s. Deep inside my dirty mind there was a spark of desire to make music just like that. And with a doom's first album, I think I did make a very poor attempt.... PETER STEELE will always be remembered for his uncomparable charisma and his unique songwriting, and concept for his great form of Art as well. Anyone who listens to my songs will easily know that I owe a whole lot to PETER STEELE.... He will never be forgotten, and will always be echoed in my music.... PETER STEELE.... UPDATE a doom now goes into work for the 2nd album.... It will be expanded in style , Tightened in sounds , and DARKER than the 1st album....a doom As Pain  is the only member for now, he will do all the recordings himself, but is open for new members.  If you think you should  be a member of  a doom, Please send a  self introduction form and photos of your live performance (Video links are accepted as well) to : adoomdarkness @ hotmail. ANNOUNCEMENT This is an official announcement from Pain : Currently the SOLE member of a doom ...... ------ Announcement 1 ------ About 2 weeks after playing the show on the last day of May, Pain RELEASED ALL members of a doom ... Therefore, there is only 1 member - The Creator , the Leader , the EVIL Mastermind of the band - Pain remaining in the band now ...... There were growing problems within the band, and when it has reached the point of effecting the band's quality of the MUSIC and PERFORMANCE (The most important thing to a band) in a bad way, Pain decided to put a stop to this ...... One (Ex. members) may have different opinions and whatever the HELL else on this action . But the most important thing to a doom is the DARK MUSIC ... Nothing else ...... Therefore, to keep the dignity of the music ,  had no choice but to make this decision ...... Pain would like to expresss his gratitude to the Ex. members - For their effort and time during the 1 year + stint performing as a "Band" .... May they have the best of luck in their future activities .... What can only be guaranteed for now is that a doom's music WILL GO ON ..... With or without a "Band" ...... ------ Announcement  2 ------ Which brings another issue - NEW ALBUM ...... As for now, a doom's leader/sole member Pain would like to take this opportunity to state that he will start to work on the NEW ALBUM for a doom .... To continue his journey seeking the true DARKNESS through Music ....   Pain started a doom as initially a SOLO PROJECT .... Never even dreaming to perform the songs LIVE on stage  .... But as the process went , the pure power of MUSIC brought the (Now Ex.) members to this DARK circle that introduced a genre that was never seen before in the Korean Underground : GOTHIC METAL  .... Pain wrote over 90 % of the album, performed over 80 % by himself .... Produced the album and created all the concept that is known as a doom you know today .... Thus, Pain will do just that, go back to its pure form from the very beginning to make the most beautriful DARK Music once again .... Only Deeper, Only Damper , and Only DARKER .... For the small group of people who has either came to see a doom perform , or bought the debut album , or supported us in one way or the other .... Pain promises to deliver music that will not dissapoint their expectations .... And once again make a moment of "Total Eclipse" in your life again .... Through MUSIC ..... For that , a doom will drown deep into the DARK abyss for some time .... For how long ? Nobody knows .... a doom would like to THANK YOU everyone, who has came out to see, booked the band, and bought the LIMITED EDITION CD,  wrote very good reviews on various webs .... Until then , a doom will post the videos and photos from the live shows that hasn't been posted yet .... a doom hopes that makes up for the "Loss" somewhat .... ------ Announcement 3 ------ In the meantime of the work for the album, Pain will occasionally perform with his NEW PROJECT : KOM-POUND .... A Gothic/Electro/EBM/Industrial Project with American Drummer Josh, KOM-POUND will introduce yet ANOTHER unheard genre to the Hongdae scene whenever invited .... For they already performed 2 times, without a name then .... Below are the 2 club shows that KOM-POUND played live - Written as ??? or ? on the poster , Because they didn't have a name then .... KOM-POUND's debut show. @ the GOTH PARTY : "Blood Red Halo Festival" (8th Aug. SAPIENS 7) KOM-POUND's 2nd show. @ the "Slammers of Death" Festival (15th Aug. Badabie) So, with KOM-POUND, for those of you who are interested in Pain's activities will be able to see what he does with this NEW PROJECT ....  Also , Pain will take this opportunity to going back to playing SESSION KEYBOARDS (Or BASS, which he has both extenstive experience in ) for bands that needs his EVIL touch for their live shows ....
